Netherlands Culture
Languages: The official languages of the Netherlands are Dutch and Frisian although Frisian is only spoken in Friesland.
Religion : The Netherlands have many different religions in there country. The popular ones are Roman Catholic and Protestant with the percent of the Catholics being 27% of the country and Protestant being 17%. Some smaller religions are Muslim (5%) and Hindu(1%). Most of the Dutch do not have a religion with 48% of the Netherlands not having a religion.
Holidays: The Netherlands have a few holidays that you might of heard of like New Years, Easter, and Christmas. They also have a lot of holidays that I have never heard of before including Queens Day and Liberation Day.
Recreation: There is thousands of sports clubs in the Netherlands with over 6 million members so there is a lot of recreation. One of the sports is bike riding. The Netherlands are called the worlds premiere cycling country. Also Football is popular among the Dutch. Speed skating is another sport that people know the Netherlands for.
Foods: Some famous foods of the Netherlands are Pannenkoeken- pancakes with bacon, apples, and cheese on top. Appletaart or Apple pie. Oliebollen witch is the Dutch version of donuts.
Arts and Music: Modern dance in the Netherlands is very popular and renowned around the world. The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra is also world class. The Netherlands Dans Theater (NDT) is a big dance studio in the Netherlands.
